Measurement ladder · phone to dedicated sensing

OpenSwing / Savant Acuity

One measurement ladder: accessible smartphone capture through OpenSwing, with Savant Acuity extending the same golfer record into professional and bespoke sensing.

Evidence discipline

What exists, what is being built, and what must be proven next.

Current foundation

A defined commodity-to-dedicated measurement ladder, phone-based capture work, the granted P3 watcher/closer camera foundation (US 12,501,176 B2), and biomechanics and pose development.

Active development

Capture standards, multiview evidence, professional configurations, synchronization, calibration, confidence, body tracking, and shared session contracts.

Next proof

Configuration-specific validation, timing and calibration studies, reference comparison, repeatability, explicit error budgets, and practitioner review.

OpenSwing begins with the phone.

The accessible end of the ladder uses the sensing already carried by the golfer. The objective is useful, confidence-gated evidence rather than pretending that every phone, angle, lighting condition, or shot supports the same result.

Acuity extends the same contract.

Savant Acuity uses the P3 watcher/closer foundation and professional configurations to increase temporal and spatial evidence, add high-fidelity launch and club state, and connect sequential skeletal, mesh, and surface-body biomechanics at a clinical-level measurement target.

One session identity.

Phone capture and dedicated capture should use the same golfer, practitioner, equipment, environment, intention, event, measurement, confidence, and outcome contracts. The configuration changes; the continuing record does not.

One continuing record

What this adds to MyGolfSavant.

With the golfer's permission, the product contributes useful evidence and meaning to a record that can inform what happens next.

Measures

Phone or dedicated image evidence, body movement, club and ball state according to configuration, conditions, equipment, intent, and result.

Interprets

Biomechanics, launch and delivery context, confidence, repeatability, fitting relevance, and the next useful question.

Remembers

The configuration, evidence, limits, golfer and practitioner context, interpretation, intervention, and later response.

Changes next

The golfer can enter through an accessible phone workflow and move to professional sensing without discarding the learning history.
